I go through diff housings very quickly ( LOSA3500 ) Usually I replace 1-2 every race weekend. I have tried shimming all 4 gears, half, and none and still the cross pin area enlarges dramatically. Usually I would say that I have done something wrong, but I don't know if this is the case after 13 gallons of this happening. If there is ANY slop in the cross pin area, I toss them. What are your guys experiences?

I'm going to try the Sportwerks diff cups, part number SWK3092 . They are a drop in fit and are supposed to last longer. Not sure if Losi fixed the problem with the soft diff cup material yet.

I guess I better look at my diff housings before I race next. I also have 13 gallons on my buggy but I have not replaced any of the three diff housings. When I replace the oil in the diffs I've never seen anything to be concerned about.

Rezenclowd--I think your RB just has too much power. LOL.

Post Good eye.....

Those are the same cups and they come from the same tools. Rod ends, rods and linkage balls are the same as well. Diff gears (except the crown and input gears) are he same as well.

Sounds like a lot of power combined with a lot of traction to me.

Several months ago we bought $1000 of nice new dirt, and this has helped our track immensely, mainly as far as having consistent traction in most of the track. When watered heavily, let sit for 10 minutes, then lightly spray again, vehicles tend to traction roll, but at least we have consistency now. We should buy another $1000 of dirt but after the last rains.

This traction plus having a C6BB (though geared with a 14tooth) most likely helps destroy my diff cups, but it also happened with a WS7II. (Not that it was lacking in any power either mind you.)

Check out the track in my signature and you can see what I am talking about. Only 1 spot needs to land on throttle, the rest can land off power and slowly slide into your powerband to easily clear.

And damn, I was thinking of getting a C6BB7T....I wonder how it would be in the Losi ;-)

I know the general rule for more traction and diffs is that you can run thicker diff oils, which I may try. I am running 5-7-2 right now, but our infield is pretty tight, so it works quite well, and I like a little oversteer, just like a how a fast race car is usually setup.

Hi guy's

i thought that i would ask you another question as ive been asking a few things on hear before about my truggy and you guy's have been really helping me out. I currently have the adam drake setup (link below) and it is really hooking up at our track but the car still seems to be pushing in the corners, How can i fix this?

Thanks Guy's

Where in the corner is it pushing, and are you on or off power during that part of the corner? Setups are always a compromise of understeer and oversteer during parts of the corners.

More rear brake bias. More rear droop.

Are you going into the corner too hard?

Off power does not mean one is using the brakes. Using the brakes to pivot is not recommended. Generally only use the brakes to slow down into a corner, roll through to the apex, and slowly power out of it. 80% of the time that is the best approach. If you have to use more rear brake bias to pivot it, your setup is wrong somewhere else.

That's cool, I was just throwing out some possibilities.
