Nexus Has profiles for just such a thing using the CTX Cell Master, Try out the Highlighted links about half way down.

You can try the following set up using step for IB4200:

Step 1 - 0-3000mah - 7A
Step 2 - 3000-3050mah - 7A
Step 3 - 3050-5000mah - 7A - 10 cuttoff - 50 degree temp cut

I use the above step on my cell master, which allows a very long lockout & less chance of a false peak. The above can be altered to 6A or 6.5A, 7A will give you the most punch out of the pack.

I thought that the whole thing about step charging was changing the charge rate. You are not really step charging as you are charging at 7A for the whole charge.

Correct, that is how step is supposed to work. I have just had better results with the above set up then using "changing" step profiles. As I posted earlier, I mainly use this feature to get the longest lockout from my Cell Master, to avoid possible false peaks. Yes it is tech. a linear charge, but has other benefits.

i'll try all of your set up,thank you

i try this last night
1. 3500 7A
2. 3550 0.2A
3. 5000 6A
flex off
5 mV cut off
50 degree C
ORION lipo version

BUT!!! the charger cut off about 4100 mAh. I charge the same cell with CDC V6.0 at 6 A ,cut off at 4400-4500 mAh.What wrong?

I believe what happened is called cell saturation. The step process allows latent energy to be dispursed into the cells. The number is lower but the cells energy density may be greater. The way to test this is by discharging and see what numbers you get or by running the vehicle and see if it gives you more power.

I try step charge and rest the cell 5 min.after that discharge at 10A. rate for 8 min. The charger shows more volt and lower IR .I think ,this is the right way.but the cell need to charge more than its spec? or only for run my car at 8 min at the race day. The cell cut off at 3900-4100 mAh.
