Heard there's been many cases of the M11 screen blacking out without warning & loss of control thereafter. Is that true ??.

Seemed like the guys here need spectacle !.

Instead of hi-jacking this thread, perhaps you should bring it up in either a new thread, or a thread specific to the M-11.

I did a quick search and did not find anybody ever mentioning M11, and the screen going out in the same post.

On my M-8, if I leave it in direct sunlight on a hot day (the lcd looking up into the sun, this can occur. (This will occur with any lcd display though) It goes away after it gets back into the shade over a period of 5 minutes or so.

KK-Racing

If the screen on the M-11 did black out, I would send the transmitter to Airtronics. It seems as if more people than not are using the radio with total satisfaction. BTW, where did you hear that from (one source or mulitple parties)? The M-11 has to be the #1 radio at my track and I have not heard of any such complaints. Also, there have been no posts about the screen blacking out. Maybe it was one of those freak of nature type deals.

Thanks
Loren

So uh...back the original question.

Not many seem to be using the 3PKS.

not much diffrence between 3pk and 3pks. menu scrolling and visual diffrences, really. personnaly, i find the toggle stick thing on the 3pks more annoying than the normal pk

Also the 3PKS has a vibrating handle alarm which you can set to the timer.

Is it just me or is the 3PKS under appreciated? The M11 is the choice of racers that I see. The Z1 is a strong second. 3PKS is barely used. What gives. Seems like a great TX.

Another vote for the Helios. Lighter than the M11, and less mainstream.

I've used 3pk, M8, Helios, and now 3pks.

from my experience, m8 is way too big for small/mid hand. Sanwa do not handle interference very well. Helios do best for elec. 3pks is the best of what i'm using right now for any scale of nitro or elec. The HRS is base on pcm, so you don't have to worry about conflict.

I have been using 2 Spektrum DX3 radios for a while now. I mainly only race. First off they are great radios with plenty of features for most anyone. But being that the radio is plastic when my hand starts getting sweaty i find it hard to hold the radio comfortably. I just picked up a M11 w/ Spektrum PRO Module/Receiver and i love it so far, but i havent raced with it yet(will on Friday). The features list is amazing and its very comfortable to hold. I have bigger hands being that i am 6' so i think it fits very nice. The trigger is perfect for my finger. It also seems balanced while holding and i think that will help during long days of racing. I cant wait to mess around with some of the features tonight..such as traction control, servo speed, abs, etc.

I would also take a look at the 3PK and R1. Both seem like very nice radios. I love the look of the 3pk. I just prefer the style of the M8/M11 more. A few guys at my track use KO PROPO radios and seem to be very fond of them also. Once you start getting into the higher end radios it really comes down to preferance. Will I probably every use half of the features on my radio? No, but its nice to know its there incase i need it. Its gonna come down to what you like and how much you want to spend. I cannot use crystals after running with Spektrum. So for me the initial cost of $460 was a bit high but well worth it. I could have saved around $50 or so by buying online but I wanted to support the LHS..knowing that they always hook me up when i need it.

Airtronics M11. Don't think that you have to have the Spektrum stuff, because you don't.

I'm leaning towards the Z-1 due to it being JR...I have 4 RS300's.

The M11 has some nice bling factor though.

You can use all of your JR receivers with the M11 as well. You can get the Novak Switch module or the Airtronics module. Now you've just made that more expensive than just getting the Z-1 thogh.
