Default Newbie Questions

Hey Gang,
Just put together an HPI RS4 3 18SS nitro car (too windy lately to fly helis), anyway, got it all together and breaking in engine...It won't stay running for long (3-5 secs) with the foam air filter on...Any ideas? Hi speed valve is set about 2 1/2 turns open, using Byron Race 2000 20% nitro fuel...Also, the engine won't stay running at the 1.0 mm throttle opening that the manual recommends...
Is there a "newbie" section here on the board?
Thanks for any help...

turn idle up little more first..also not sure..is motor pull or starter box start...sometimes people try to start motor backwards when on a starter box..if all is correct also try leaning motor a little you might have it too rich and drowning motor...hope this helps a little

well one fritz to another, does that carb have a low end setting, if so lean it out half a turn does it stay running when you pick it up but dies when it is on the ground? then check the clutch, you may have to lean the topend some more or turn up the idle still more, if you have a local hobbie store close, take it to them to help with the tune, you can really get the setting out of whack really quick if you are not carefull.
