I don't think I used your name in my post either - how do you know I was talking about you?

A local club member had his shiny new -R at today's race. It made it through the day without breaking. I was watching it before a heat, and I saw it hit the outer board (pair of 2x4s) hard and fast with the front outside tire. No breakage.

Another account of them breaking way too easy, my fried tried his out this friday at our club race and broke a left and right off very light taps, put this electronics back in his 007 and didn't break a thing There are a lot of things I like about the new car, but this arm issue needs to be addressed, even if simply offering the long arm in graphite as well. Of course Mr. Haynes runs at our club and rarely broke anything, he also rarely hits anything!

One other thing we may need to think about.

I really think once we all get some spares that it will not seem like such a catastophy every time we break an arm. Seriously, if we or our local tracks had the spares on the shelf then it wouldn't be such a big deal. Its just that at this moment supply is limited and if you break then your out. Time will help this situation.

i think i have to disagree with you pooky. the several pics of broken arms on here look the same, and they look just the arms i broke. the circumstances surrouding the broken arms sound the same as well. something may be wrong. i have a couple broken graphite arms in my pit box, and none of them broke at the corners and all of them have taken actual hard hits to snap.

too many people on here having the exact same problem to be told it's a fluke or that we need to stop hitting stuff.

it's been requested of me that i mail my broken arms in so they can be looked at, hopefully other people have had that same request made of them. i'm more than happy to send any broken parts back if it helps identify a problem if one exists, and helps resolve it.

anyway, i can't wait till next weekend for the next race day! the car still rocks, i just can't hit anything

The deal with spares is weird. Horizon charged my card, but I still haven't seen them, and it's been like two weeks now. I ordered a few packages from Stormer just to be safe, you guys have me all paranoid about breakage now, even though I've managed to keep it together thus far. I've got two chances at club races this week... gulp!

Thanks for the info about the breakage. I am hitting the track for the first time this season (Washington State: first dry Sunday of the year) with the JRXS-R and two extra sets each of front and rear arms. We will see how many I use. JRXS in 13.5 brushless and JRXS-R in stock brushed.

i break my xray plenty, and when it breaks, the parts cost a fortune.... atleast losi parts are cheap... that was the nice thing about associated when i ran them.. i could afford to break it...

Horizon has some arms in stock at their central warehouse. I don't know to much about other options like hubs and caster bocks. I thought the original JRXS parts (hubs and caster blocks) fit. Maybe I was wrong.

Hubs and casters are a carry over, just that the new stuff is EA3 instead of graphite. You can use your old hubs and carriers with no issue.
