Run the antenna as is. Lengthening the antenna could possibly change the tuning.

You do not need to do anything to the SR3500 Micro Receiver before running it, beyone binding it of course. I run one in each my Mayhem ST and my Turmoil. With both vehicles, the antenna bearly sticks out of the receiver box but they still work perfectly. I also run one each in my 2 TA-05's, my Mini-LST, and other vehicles and have had nothing but great results in each vehicle.

i run this receiver in my BD also - you no longer need the antenna mount or tube so you can remove these items now

Has anyone haD any problems with durability, like bumping it compared to its larger brother. Can they be found anywhere for less than $99?

Been a most excelent investment. I have two. Had them in my 1/12 cars, and now have them in my cars for TCS. I stll run the antenna mount on my cars, but the tube is only a stub, maybe 2" or so.

Does anyone use the SR3500 receiver, with 4 cells, Sphere and/or Sphere Competition, and no Rx receiver pack? Any problems with BEC voltage?

Ive ran the micro with 6 cells and the sphere comp. When I had my fan also plugged in the Sphere Comp would shut down after a few moments. I had to either remove the fan or add the Spektrum cap to fix the problem. Others Ive raced with had the same problem. Also it was only when using a brushless motor. With the brushed motor it was fine.

Finally broke down and picked up a couple of these and a Spektrum module for the 1/12th scale cars (tiny!!). A couple of the guys I run with just have the antennas coming straight up out of the receiver with no signal strength issues so far.....and that's with 4 cells and no receiver pack
