Default European Championship

Yes, Team Orion brushless and GM-Racing brushless won all controlled practises, all qualifiers and all A-finals, except of the first qualifier, where the best two groups did not start because of heavy rain.
Marc Fischer won the 4th round of qualifier in dry conditions and the first A-Main in WET conditions.
Hupo Hönigl won all WET practises and Andy Moore won all other rounds with the Team Orion brushless system.
The brushless system worked really good at good grip and slippery track conditions.

notice though how the brushed motors were still in use by orion drivers at the worlds leading me to belive that brsuhed is better on most racks and brushless only best on the really big tracks

Actually, drivers were free to use them. None chose to.

Sorry. I was referring to the Worlds. Not knowing what to expect, everyone stuck with brushed. But I think it would have been pretty good had someone used it.

The brushless systems had a major advantage at this years euros (8th scale track) for the guys who ran them, but several drivers had issues with them glitching and had to resort back to brushed.

Teemu finished 2nd with a brushed motor

Teemu ran good. Andy was fantastic. But the weather realy sucked. Everybody agreed to these 3 things.....
Brushless is very interesting, and as all new things up for the ultimate test, like a Worlds, Euro or other hughe races, it will require some time before things settled down, and we realy understand how it works, when and where it will perform at it´s best, and what´s needed in order to adjust it for a even better performance.
It was the same discussion when electronic speedos entered the resistor world of throttle control.

At the worlds track in practise before the worlds Masami was about 0.05s faster per lap with brushless.
This track was too small to use all of the extra power advantage, because the tyres can not handle the speed.
So all drivers choosed, what they where more used to it. Also the rumors were going around, that the GM motor is not legal, because it was so fast, so some top drivers like Masami were afraid to use it.
But some GM drivers used it and it was legal.
The new brushless systems were only tested a short time before the worlds.
So on small tracks it has the only advantage of not truing comms. The lap times should be really similar, but no fading at the end.
On big tracks you have a hugh advantage on the streightway.
Maybe the advantage is also bigger with foam tyres.
