I'll second the 21bf mentioned above. For the money spent on that motor, you definitely get a lot of bang for your buck. I just started nitro racing this month after not racing anything for 10 years or so, went with a Hyper 8 and the 21bf motor- couldn't be happier. This combo will keep up with anything at the tracks I have been to- Prospecs with p5's, Jammin's with VZB's....etc.

The OS RG makes a lot of sense as well, due to the even lower cost though I have never ran one personally.

Novarossi 21BF is by far the best bang for the buck in the nitro engine department! I have a good 3-4 gallons on mine in the MBX5 and it runs great. Its never flamed on me and gets good run time. I use a 9886 with short off-road header. The motor was crazy tight for the first two gallons. Then it will loosen up and scream up top so don't get discouraged if it feels sluggish on top. It just needs a lot of time to breakin.

RG with an O.S. 2050 pipe here. I was able to keep up with an RB WS7-II on a 200' straightaway with mine. I can clear all the jump sections the exotic motors can, and the next time I have a runaway with the car, I won't cry like I did when I blew up a V-Spec that ran away and went bang! LOL!
