I may also pickup a Carlsen Mod ZX21 from a friend for cheap...barely used. The plan is to run both touring and 8th this year, but mainly work on Sedan.
I'd stay away from Carlsen engines... Just some advice.

Eeek! Are they the devils colt or something too? Guess I'll just go with the NINJA. Atleast those are pretty good, but I hear they will not be enough for 301 raceway's track? Atleast for Floyd Bennett they'd be great as another racer and I had fun tailgating eachother during the regionals.

Ahh I gotcha. Sure it wasn't a modded NINJA like the MURNANs mod? Those some have said are just wicked. Regardless a stock NINJA seems adequate. I just went to BK hobbies Sun for another Mugen (TC though) and will be back for some 8th scale stuff. Just tryin to get something decent for my lvl without breaking the bank. I have a well paying job for my age, but $600 for just a motor isn't something that'd be bought unless weekly payments would be twice as large.

I've run plenty of RB engines prior to the C6...... C4, C5 and some sedan stuff.... X12, V12, V12 Rody, etc.... I've got no problems with RB in general- just the C6 from personal AND expert opionion.

I got a new C6 last season and broke it in just as I had all my other six or seven .21 engines I currently have..... a few JP's and mostly REX 321P's. At less than a gallon the piston shattered at the pin boss. I took the set to the Nats in Cincy and showed Murnan just to see what he thought. He was not fond of the engine to begin with and just seeing the damage on mine he was even more convinced.... the piston is paper thin.

Anyways.... the engine was sent to RB for inspection and they replaced the P/S set due to manufacturing defect, but did not give me a new rod. I bought a rod on my own and sold the engine with all new internals. I appreciate the customer service from RB, but won't get another C6 due to poor material conditions of the piston.

Many here suggest the Ninja- I may well get one for next year to try as well, but personally I have a hard time outdriving my 321P's

I have a team C6 that has the Rody break in , plus a few tanks of my own. Two full races (Paris memorial, and the Region 12 champs). I have used it with a 2018 pipe and an 86 pipe. Plenty of top end, a bit light on the bottom end. Engine is in good shape.

I qualified third just one second behind Richie at 301's last big race using the stock Ninja. I was on a TQ pace each round but kept running out of fuel.I am new to 1/8th scale so I need to work on fuel milage, but the Ninja will do fine.

My 2 cents

Default Mrx4 to MRX4R

Hey guys, I'm gathering up parts to make my MRX4 an R. I can't find the HO139-B (front upright) around here at the LHS. Can I go ahead and use the regular HO139 front uprights or the stock uprights from the original MRX4? Thanks in advance.

Kel:

Yes you can use the original MRX-4 upright but if you're going to be at REV this weekend, look me up so I can hook you up...Damn, I'm a poet...

Hi Steve,

Do you have any experience with Murnan's break-in service? I was going to get a few new Ninja's for this season and heard they take lots of time, thought this may be an option. What do you think of the Murnan Ninja mods?

Ralph
