I have noticed this issue after looking closely to my friend's kit. In case you have misunderstood my Q,, I actually mean that it sticks out from the exhaust's side by 2mm or 3mm..
My Kyosho 1 piece engine mount also sticks out of the chassis Here's a picture of it...

Anyone of you guys using this tool from Kyosho? It's a pinion tool remover (VZW221). It's is very easy to use and does not damage the pinion gears that you remove and especially the lightened clutch bell. Also, it has a guage in the middle where you can easily use to measure the amount of end play when setting up the clutch

Here's one end for removing the first pinion gear (15T to 17T)

Here's the other end for removing the 2nd pinion gear (20T to 23T)

I have seen broken rods in just about every engine. It's a maintenance issue. Some just last longer than others.

What RB was it?

What RB was it?

That was the new .12 RB Xenon or Matrix.
I do not recall which one is the .12 size engine.

Did you get a chance to see it run? If so, what did you think of it? I have been very curious about these engines but have never seen one in person.

It seems easily worn out, doesn't it?
But for kyosho one, the hook bent in use after a period..........
Any more choices?
