If you ask super nice they will serrate them. 
The 766 brush is awesome. I have not done any 4 cell testing with them but running them against 767 brushes they the same if not more power and are much more durable. They stand up to harsher conditions. The XXX is a great brush for longevity and will probably last longer over all but they do not produce the power in my stock testing.
The serrations last a long time on the 766. It takes about 5 6-8 min runs in offroad 6cell stock to wear out the serrations. In a 767 it takes about 2 runs.
The brush is harder like the XXX so the serrations last longer. The serrations are not overly deep.

Had a guy I pitted next to who did that. What ever happend to cut brushes that allegedly advanced your timing? Those used to be the ticket!

Some people still slot or drill out brushes. Serrating kind of does the same thing. It increases edges on the brush. If you believe that electricity travels around the edges (common theory) then more edges will mean more power to the comm. With todays already high RPM motors I am not sure anyone actually times there brushes anymore. Comm drops are a thing of the past as well.
Another benefit of serrations is the brush will seat on the comm faster making sure you have full brush wrap on the comm to produce the most power possible.

Well I got the Indi 16X512 charger and while it seems like a great charger it didnt come with a manual. No problem right? Just go to the web sit and down load it. It's the only charger not on the download site so now I am stuck. I do have the instructions to us one of their discharge trays it's just to bad I dont have it. I sent an e-mail to the yahoo account, AOL account, and hot mail account and still no reply. I guess there just busy being the Christmas seson.

The 16X512 charger is neat. I just wish it had memory for different batteries. It is a great little unit with temp cutoff and step charging and all the motor testing functions. The charger is not hard to use. I have the !6X5v6 so I know the integy menus. If you have questions I may be able to help. e-mail me at [email protected].
I have have been able to get ahold of Bill at integy at [email protected] but it can take a week or two for you to get a response.
In a bind the 16X8 should have very similar menus. The major difference is the 16X8 has a discharge function I do not think the 512 has.

Idealy about every 5-7 runs.
After about 10 you start to damage the comm to the point where it requires a deeper cut to clean the comm up and this decreases the life the motor. Believe it or not but cutting the comm more often actualy increases the life of the motor and it makes sure performance is consistant.
You can get a cheap lathe for around $100 used. If you want new I recommend the Orion quick-set lathe. I really like how they have the screws to suppor the arm shaft so you do not need to shim the arm and use a pinion like the Cobra style lates. IF you have deep pockets the Fantom lathe is the best out there IMO. They run you about $400 but come with everything you need all setup in the box. All you need to do is charge the battery and solder up the switch and you are good to go. The Orion lathe will be a little less money and you can get a diamond cutting bit on ebay for uner $50 I think. Spend the money on the diamond bit as they will last forever and ensure you get a good cut everytime. Carbide bits wear out and you have to sharpen them or replace them every 20-25 cuts. I have been using the same diamond bit for 3 years now!
