AdrainM, why Reedy motor manufacturer said they couldn't (or wouldn't) make a brussless stock monor ?

A very legitimate observation (it's 4/2 as I write this, so no funny business)...
The motor Big Jim was working on for Reedy was code named "cobalt"...
There were some pictures on Jim's forum of what he called a "stepped lamination" armature...:

Then Jim got dumped by Reedy, went back to Trinity, and guess what -- they bring out a COBALT stock motor, with an armature that uses a highly simplified version of the stepped lamination armature... Big Jim's prototype actually had multiple steps in reduced diameter of the laminations -- the Trinity CO27 simply has two steps -- full height, and then center-web/top-of-the wire level in the center...
Coincidence -- I think NOT...
