The missing springs seems to be a Worldwide issue. I was given a set when I picked up the car so it wasnt a problem. Anyone who gets one needs to check to see if the springs are in the kit.
Finished the build last night, it is pretty much what I expected. I must admit I think I prefer the 710 front & rear belt tensioner set up. The 720 lay out for the eccentric carriers is a bit of a pain. The rear plate/upper bulkhead piece is also a bit tricky to install. Looking forward to hitting the track with it tommorow night. I was very happy to see all the upgrades from the 710 fitted with no hassles, saves a heap of coin having to buy all the bling bits for the new car.

Orange alu hexes are standard. The purple ones on my photos earlier in this topic are not standard...

I'm using a Hitec as a steering servo. Have been doing so for the past year and a half, and have had no problems whatsoever with it. So it's not all bad...
I have used graupner and futaba servo's for throttle/brake though and destroyed 1 graupner and 1 futaba so far. Braking is very bad for the servo...

fried engine
Hi guys,
It looks like I fried my engine yesterday. Couple of reasons I can think of:
- Hot weather + 35 C
- Small cooling head (didn't have time to buy the new larger one)
- 1st gear was shifting about a sec too late, we were trying to adjust it before the engine blew :-(
- Track is really fast, has a long straight where you can push the engine all the way up to the limit.
Situation on the engine is following: It blew right at the end of the straight. It just made a silent tsssss (like a snake) before it went dead. Car was very hot at that point. I waited like an hour for it to cool down completely. Then I restarted it. It starts without a problem but after 10-15 sec it stalls again.
Now the question is: Will it be enough for me to just buy a new piston and sleeve set? Or what else should be changed? Or is it enough if I just polish the pieces that have been fried? Maybe dumb questions, but first time with a dead engine and just looking for some help here as a loyal Serpent fan and driver.
P.S.: Greetings to Tomaschko and Kandi, looking forward to seeing you here with the new 720 asap. Alles klar?
