Default Tire wear options

Can someone advise me on a tire wear issue when the left side tire wears 2mm faster then the right side. Should I use higher shore front and rear or true the tires bigger on the left side.

It is going to be a good year like I said before, because Ryan my 6 yr old son won his first club race at Homestead RC Raceway, 15 min A main with his Serpent 720 what a great day.

Also DJ you missed Ryan's spin out, he did it just like you.

That great man............

Good to here, Ryan will be killing us all very soon. Startign at such a young age is awesome. Good news on the spin out.

As for the tire wear. You must mean at the Homestead track. That tire gets like that with the high speed sweeper at the end of the track. You can do a couple of things. Harder tire on that axle, calculate how much larger to start that tire out at or depending on how long the race you can change that tire during the main.

Congrats again,

I believe that this is due to the amount of speed and pressure that is applied to the left side when entering the sweeper at the end of the straight. I dont know what you can do to reduce the inequality of wear. Because if you true the tires larger on that side it may effect the way the car handles ih other portions of the track. I have the same issue with my son's carpet sedan, just on a smaller scale. Hopefully someone on this thread with more experience than myself can shed some light on the issue.

I have a LCG chassis but dont have the LCG monoblock mount.I have the standard height monoblock mount. Is there a regular two piece mount, can I use the regular height monoblock on the LCG.What flywheel would I use with that combo????There are two different flywheels ,right??

If you are using the 802552 engine mount then use 802506 flywheel, now if you are using 803208 engine mount then use the 803209 flywheel, it does not matter which chassis you will be using.

I believe it does. The 720 '08 comes with the Black Chassis (Non-LCG) and the LCG engine mount (Monoblock). As you know this an ok setup, but when I changed to the LCG chassis, I had to reduce my flywheel's diameter (change to the 31mm flywheel of course) otherwise it would be like sticking out under the chassis.

So in conclusion, if your going to run the LCG chassis AND the monoblock THEN you need the 31mm flywheel, otherwise you can use the stock flywheel, 33mm.

Hope this helps.

I have the same issue at the track i race, but then for the right side, to cure this problem i use the following tyre setup, this will have a better wear side to side after 30 min of racing i end up with .5 mm smaller on the right.

The setup:

LF GRP 37 shore 60.5mm RF GRP 40 shore 61mm
LR GRP 40 shore 63.5mm RR GRP 42 Shore 64mm

For your situation just change the sides (and tyre starting size) and you will be ok.

It doesnt matter which chassis you use. If the correct motor mount is used with the correct flywheel;; 31mm with LCG mount, 33mm with original Monoblock, there will be no clearance issue.
