I forgot about the ICE not having a backlight. I got the backlight mod and it does make a difference. Remember the ICE can also break in a motor while the Cell Master can't.

Well it looks like the cell master and the ICE are the overwhelming choices here.

I have heard the cell master is not good at charging anything but sub-c batts AKA 38-4200's . Is this true?

As for the ICE, the backlight thing is a factor. Does anyone have a link or some info or directions on performing the backlight mod?

Thanks for all the responses. It's really surprising to hear the Cell Master and ICE with little input on other's. I may just end up buying one of each

try doing a search for the backlighting, i've seen it on here before. And if you do backlighting, you will void your warrenty, i just use one of those tap lights

If you like the ICE but get turned off by the DuraTrax label, Yokomo has the exact same charger with their brand on it, looks much nicer, but still no backlight though.

Check out the ICE thread, a guy in there sells the backlight and has instructions on how to do the mod. The mod looks difficult but it isn't.

In the Ice thread check around around page 24 or 25. Look for a poster named PB. He's the one who was supplying the backlights and instructions.

I bought a new charger last week. I first wanted to get the MuchMore cellmaster but my LHS recommended the Robitronic Overloader instead of the MuchMore one.

I bought the Robi and no complaints so far, decent unit, charges NiMh and LiPo,... I dont need more so...

i have no idea about a US distributer and I find it strange I didnt see the charger mentioned more in this tread but I picked it up for 150€ or 180$.

Seems to me it is almost the same as the duratrax but with a decent backlight, 20A discharge and everything you need.

Hope you can find one for a decent price in the US.
