Is SideXSide battery spacing always the same?
I am not good at building my own battery packs, so I opt for the assembled packs (not stick packs though). I was wondering if the battery slot spacing in all touring cars is the same, or are they sometimes slightly different? Basically, if I buy a pre-assembled SideXSide battery pack, will the drop right into the battery slots perfectly?

So do 3700 side by sides fit perfectly in 3300 chassis?
For 5 minute parking lot races - I'm not feeling the love to
pay for high end packs.
Do you really get a whump out of 3800-4200 packs?

The 3700's are larger than the 3300's. The slots are definitely not the same on all touring cars. On my EVO IV, the chassis slots were cut for the larger cells. When I put a 3300 or 3600 pack in it, it doesn't sit flat and raises my cg. However, if your slots are cut for 3300's and 3600's, you can just file the slots until the larger cells fit flat. Takes a little time but no major effort involved. Just keep testing the fit of the pack in the slots as you're filing so you don't take too much off. You don't want the cells sticking out the bottom of the chassis. You want them just even with it.

And, they can be had pretty cheap. Check out team broods website.
You can get some of the slightly lower voltage packs for a pretty cheap price. And, if they were done at 30 amps like the 3700's they would show higher voltage.

I went from some matched 3300's to some unmatched 3800's and my jaw dropped.
The IB 3800's have amazing voltage. Previously my car was sorted.. very stable very smooth. When i first put in a 3800 i stacked twice on the same lap. Had to re-adjust my lines, braking points everything.
The 3300's had me slightly nervous opening up the throttle onto the straight. (I could be pretty brutal and the rear would just wiggle a little)
The 3800's had enough power that i could dial in a little steering, give the car 3/4 throttle and it would continue to rotate on throttle. Enough to spin all 4 tires for a couple of meters down the straight. (Mind you, our track runs a DOWNHILL straight! and this was on race rubber..)
There are plenty of matchers selling surplus unmatched 3800's.. they are well worth the upgrade. or, borrow a friend's pack. It's pretty big difference.
Kinda like going from some ordinary 3000's(if you still remember) to a high end pack of 3300's..
