Getting tha MOST out of 3800's
Hi all. i'm looking for advice on getting the absolute Most out of the IB 3800's. There's only 6 or 7 race days left in our carpet on-road season and i don't care if the batts die before then! i want then to scream for at least 3 race week-ends.
so what's the best method to make these bad-boys killers? some matchers say to dead-short...some say not to.....some even say to use it twice in one day! i'm stumped.

I don't know about dead shorting. Don't think its good for them, from what I hear.
But I do hear that charging at 9-10 amps really makes these cells lively. Life span is unknown, but if you don't care about it, then go for it.
Tray just before charge.
Discharge at 30 amps after race.

Five minutes before your run, put the pack in the microwave on HIGH for 30 seconds.
Just kidding.

Pete... No deadshorting or 10 amp charging unless you want to fade at 2 minute mark..LOl
Charge 6 amps .03 peak detect
Discharge at 30 -35 amps when done racing down to .90 per cell (5.40) 6 cell
Put pack away till next run
Tray for 1 minute unless lites on discharge tray dim first and remove
Carage again

i dead shorted my packs and it livened them up big time! they went really good for a couple of meets and now theyre back to normal.
Make sure that there is absolutely no charge in the cells
dont charge at 10amps your batteries wont last the race 6 would be the most you would want.

Tag's method has been what I have done for months. It hasn't let me down yet.
No deadshorting for me, ever... Tried it a while back just for an experiment and ended up giving the pack to a kid at the track.

I dont think runtime is the issue in stock when charging at 10A. Yeah, they will have more rip, especially in stock, but the life of the pack will definitely be shortened. Snowbirds and club racing is very different. Snowbirds-10A Club racing 6-7A.

If you charge at a high amp rate, do a thermal cutoff charge.
