Default Tekin R1 with Castle Creations 4600KV?

Hello. Anybody knows if I could use a Tekin R1 esc with a Castle Creations CMS36 - 4600KV motor? I am happy with my CC Sidewinder esc, however the smaller footprint of the Tekin R1 would fit better in my 1/12th scale. Thanks for any input.

Default Tekin sensorless motor with CC Sidewinder esc

Thanks. This is good. Another question, would I be able to use a Tekin sensorless motor such as the Redline 358 (5800KV) with my Sidewinder esc? Sidewinder is rated for Castle Creations 4600KV and 5700KV mamba motors.

Default Tekin Redline

Just getting back into electrics - got my RS and a redline motor. - What length screws should I use for the motor or - maybe more correctly - how far should they thread in or how much is too much.

I have a screw length so it has 1/8" engagement.

I was at 1.67" rear tires and 38-81 gears. I ran the motor stock, didn't change anything. It felt 1 over geared, didn't wind out till late.

Sounds like to me youre WAY undergeared. The track I race at is probably about 80 couple feet, and I'm rolling out at around 3.30 (inches). I have a 78 spur, 50 or 51 tooth pinion and I start out with a 1.72 rear tire. Hope this helps.

We run our 17.5's at 3.2-3.3, I'd never be able to run a 10.5 at that. At 3.3 a 17.5 is at 150 deg.

I most agree, at a track as big as the Gate was, with all sweeping round turns I could only gear a 13.5 at 3.25 and a 17.5 at 3.6. The big track in Omaha, with a couple of tight spots, I think we were running 10.5 at around 2.25-2.30.

Default RS calibration woes

Hello Randy,

I hope you (or anyone else for that matter) can help me. I just got my 12th scale car all wired up with the RS and 17.5 combo, and am having trouble calibrating the esc. When I power up, all I get are all 7 led's lit up solid. Using the mode button (for 3 seconds) does nothing. I've tried to reset the whole system back to factory specs just for kicks, but I don't think its responding. I'm getting no audible chime either. I'm running a KO Helios w/ Spektrum. Also have the Hotwire interface as well.

Please help as i'm planning a trip to the new facility in Chico this Saturday.

Regards,
Steve
