OOOO I just drove my yok outside on the street (smooth asphault) and boy it handled sweet! It wasnt twitchy at all, and this is w/ stock setup but no rear sway bar. I also used the stock tires too Man this thing is QUIET too!!! I cant wait to race it!!!!!

johnbull, we cut up the weights to fit in the center slots under the front belt, as far back as you can. It worked very well and did not upset the balance of the car.

Hi guys, i was just wondering what rollout and gear ratio means?

EG, how high is high and how low is low? my rollout is 81.4, what does that mean? And is there is a safety zone that gearing ratio should stay in? And what would be better for a short tight track compared to a bigger one.

Sorry about all these questions...I'm quite new to electric.

Hopefully will run the Yokomo in a few weeks, carpet season is starting up again.

I'm not so familiar with rollout as I have never worked with it before, but I believe your 81.4 is the distance the car will travel with one revolution of the armature ?

As for gear ratio, it has to do with what spur/pinion combination you use. Gear ratio = spur/pinion * internal ratio of your car.

Example, you have an MR-4 with a 78 tooth spur, and a 22 tooth pinion. 78/22 = 3.54 continued * 2.2 (internal ratio of the MR-4) = 7.8. This means it takes 7.8 revolutions of the armature to equal one revolution of the tires. The lower your gear ratio is (eg. 6.4 is lower than 7.2) the harder it is for your motor to accelerate your car, but since the motor is performing less revolutions to equal one revolution of the tires, you will have higher top speed. The opposite is true for a higher gear ratio. Larger pinion yields lower ratio, large spur yields higher ratio and vice versa.

Ooops sorry, i actually measured the spurs as pinion and the other way around my rollout is actually 37.Thanks for the information at least now i know what rollout and gearing is.

yokomo's new car will be a mr4 sp with the 'worlds' kit (deck and towers etc) my understanding is that no 'revolutanary' change is anywhere close

on another issue there wont be a hpi pro4 untill all pro3's are gone (no surprise there i guess)
