Whatever it is, they seem to end up smaller.
FF is the answer to all these talk these days about cars being being too fast and expensive imo. You can only put down so much power, but won't turn into spin outs at every turn like an improperly setup RWD. So it is easier for the beginner, but still challenging.

+1 - Far to difficult to drive; wouldn't be enjoyable for most drivers, new or experienced. Unless ANY new class's primary goal is bringing in new drivers, there's no sense in wasting the time and effort.

Even in 4wd TC, some pros are not fully charging their lipos to 8.4~V for mod in order to tame the car.

The other implication is that you'll have someone with a really fast vehicle hitting really large jumps but with no sense of control. If someone is standing in the line of fire, things can get bad pretty fast. I've seen lots of guys think that missed jumps are funny or that people dodging them is funny. I don't find it so amusing. Obviously this isn't much of an issue in onroad but as you pointed out, fast but broken is slower than slow but reliable.

I've taken a TA02 and put a one-way diff in the front in reverse. It's nice to be able to brake without the rear stepping out, and it's great to use throttle control when exiting a turn. But the front wheels braking at the same speed with no diff action make turn in horrid if you're not slowed down in time. It would be a fun class if enough people were running a car like that though.
