Ok couple problems here...

Are the tires these:

or these:

If you are using the second tire, they don't work on carpet very well and any setup will not be helpful.

You need tires that work on carpet
The ones you have, do not

Try the new Tamiya TCS tires, or Shimizu 571, 572 combination

RedBullFixx: you seem to have the same servo as me, Futaba BLS-551: How much shims under the servo saver for no bumpsteer AND how far forward or back for correct ackerman?

Pit shimizu 0571 and 0572 are good tires, and available from many online shops. That would be a good substitute for the TCS tires.

I've got the servo moved all the way forward in the plastic servo mounts, with 2mm shims on the links

No noticeable bump steer
I probably should have more shim like your car, but the transponder is in the way

Your build looks good to me, just remember to keep at least 2mm of droop up front when adjusting ride height (by using the droop shims on the lower A-Arms)
Sometimes more is better, I've run 4+mm on low grip tracks to get the chassis to roll more

I recently purchased and built a F104 the Ferrari edition. I was wondering what are the essential upgrades i need to make this thing race proof?

I have the aluminum motor mount, tamiya diff upgrade, and carbon rear shaft.

Put the stock rear axle back in, add the high traction t-bar and center shock. Turbuckkes for the front are also nice but not needed.

The aluminum pod plates are are the only must have hopup. tuning parts such as trailing axles, side spring set, center spring set are also good to get allowing you to dial the car in for any track. The trf center shock and springs make a nice lazy guy addition due to the through shocks frequent need for a rebuild.
