where are you running? Im really close to going back to RM just for grins using this as a start for 17.5
front 30 wt green spring 3x1.4
rear 30 wt white spring 2x1.6
mm rear arms
MIP pucks
slipper eliminator
3/2 arm mounts
Just a theoretical start but i think it will be close

I run at SDRC. I ended up with 32.5/30 with 3x1.4 f-2x1.6r green front and grey rear . We will see how it does at the next club race. I really like the consistency of the B5R and the point and shoot style of driving. I may also be trying the 45G brass front pivot mount too

DG,

I am setting up a RM to run at SDRC, I don't think traction is as high as OCRC but the setting should be pretty close. What are you running on the front for kickup? I have 30 on the block and 5 in the hubs, but may want to go to 0 in the hub or 25/5 in the front for a total kickup of 30?

Never considered the MM rear arms, how do you mount them and the rear hubs?

Sounds good. I already have them, just have to bolt them on. I will probably try that tomorrow.

Actually with the Reedy announcement I'm kind of thinking of running 13.5 for a while and then throw a 8.0 in it. For the arms just mount them backwards. Hubs are normal. Funny thing is that i have an extremely good MM car, just want to have something different. Im not competitive in 17.5 so if i am going to be in the back i might as well have fun with some HP!
As far as traction SDRC might have the bite of OCRC when its just right, it just seems to have a bigger grip range depending on the moisture.
Pegasus coming back to life also has me thinking about the RM.

Well that is awesome for OCRC. I have not been to OCRC, since before they had their carpet track for onroad. I may have to take a drive up and see the track.

Hello,

A quick question about piston and shock shaft combos. I have V1 and V2 shafts, I understand there is a difference with the screw and e-clip retention's but can you cross v1 pistons with v2 shafts? I have noticed the AE v1 pistons fit fine and are ever so slightly loose after screwed down, as in it can be rotated once the screw is down. I've also noticed a set of Schelle v1 style pistons fit very snug on the shaft, is that how it 'should' be?

Please excuse my ignorance,
Cheers

What's with the front rims rubbing on the outside ball cups? I was kind of surprised by that. Thought they may have figured that out here in the 21'st century!

Unless you ream out the V2 piston, the hole is too small to fit on a V1 shaft. Accidentally ordered some mixed parts from Amain, didn't realize how messed up their "parts for this car" listing were and ordered a mixed set of parts. Decided this last weekend to rebuild the shocks and change up the piston valving front and rear and the V2 pistons would not fit and I didn't have anything to cleanly ream them out so had to purchase the V1 piston to finish the assembly. Not too sure how they absolutely should sit on the shaft, I would think that having them tight enough to not spin should not change how they perform in their damping characteristics. I will probably just ream out the V2 pistons to the size of the V1 set and keep them as backup set of 2 X 1.6 and 3 X 1.4.

I'd check what front wheel you are running...none of mine come close to the ball cups.
