How do you fit a 25 T pinion in an M-05? I'm curiouse? Do you have to re-drill motor mounting holes?

If you tried to stuff a pinion larger than twenty teeth it would bind gears.

The vidio was really neat. I didn't think mini's were suppose to go that quick!

Thanks

i am using the 3Racing gear sets , it took me some time to get them to work as the mesh was not right ,

i use the smallest spur from 3Racing and the 22 pinion . we run silvercans and my car is quick in a straight line but i lost a lot of pull out of the corner , not that the silver can has a lot of torque !!!

i will try the 20 tooth with the spur and see how that goes but at the moment i am trying to get ready for ETS

That was close racing. We all had the same ESC. Virtually all had the same gearing. It was close racing but just at high speed. Scary going down the straight as fast as 10.5 system cars

I have to agree w/ cannon. I'm trying to convince everyone at our track that Silvercans are not the way to go. I had to dig out of my junk drawer an ESC that would run a brushed motor for my M-05 pro. Plus there's too much variation from one motor to the next. Depending on which of the three motors I use my lap time vary by nearly a full second. I'm trying to get everyone to switch to the Hobbywing 13T system like the guys down under. If not I'll be investing in some red dot motors just to prove my point.

won't disagree with either of you...but until Tamiya USA changes their rules for the mini class, most if not all tracks won't adopt a new motor format for the class...Because nothing sucks more then class rules that vary from track-to-track - BL at my track, but silver cans at the track 40 minutes away - only thing that will do is kill the class...

so everyone in the USA and Canada needs to put some pressure on the Tamiya guys to change over to a new power plant and then you'll see a lot more tracks going BL in mini

BTW, i know this has been asked before, but anyone got a link to the hobbywing setup in the USA?

I couldn't agree more with getting the TCS rules changed.

Here's where I bought mine.

Get the head count up and run stock and mod mini classes.

If you like slow, run stock with rules.

Some of you are missing the whole point of the mini class. All the kits and RTRs come with a silvercan motor. The class is there to allow new people to get an inexpensive car on the track and get hooked on Rc racing. Like it's been said before, if you want a different motor, run a different class.

I think TCS should switch it up a little...

Silvercan class
SportTuned class

If club events were to adopt the SportTuned(Tamiya Blackcans)motors it will be MATCHED FAST RACING

IMO a Mod class would be a little extreme as far as tire wear and drivetrains Pinion>Spur>Diff>CV shafts don't last under extreme fast motors.

Leave the class alone.

When is their close racing in any class. I don't know if you know this but things are more even when everybody has more HP! It is harder to drive a line when you have more power so the distance is less between car with more power. Plus it would be cheaper!
