Yes those are what I run. From all the batteries Ive tried, I have gone back to those because it gives the most bang for the buck with longevity to boot. Nothing beats value.

Races my 7r nitro and 7r Eco yesterday, best lap times were 0.1sec difference, nitro being a tad quick it due to me being more use to driving the nitro. cars feel very similar but the Eco does have a heavier feel of coarse.

Thanks for the feedbacks.... I'm sure maxamp batts are one of the best but it's more than what I want to spend if I plan on getting 3-4 packs. Smc I also use on my touring cars they are really good for the money so will probably go with those just to bash around.

The Hobbyking 4500mah hard packs are great, very cheap $45au each and get 12+ mins at race pace. That's what I use and many other I know.

I run smc in everything! Although, my last pack I needed one quickly & smc 6500mah was on back order. I tried the promatch 6500mah (similar price) & like it just as much. As a bonus, the promatch is 2mm shorter on its side & so it fits under my night fox body better. If smc is still oos try the pro match. Smc will still be my go to lipo, but pro match is right there with it.

I checked a few setup sheets from petitrc for 1/8 buggy and it seems that most pro drivers are using 6200-6500 mah batteries. My guess is it has better weight balance?

The big difference with the larger mah packs is they don't fade during a 10minute main. The 4500-5000mah packs can start to fade before the 10 minute mark. With the larger mah pack you can run several warm up laps & press hard for the full 10 minutes & not feel any power fade. I used to run the turnigy lipo & could feel it start to fade around 7-8 minutes in.

Of course that will all depend on your setup. If you are anal retentive about everything being free moving, have ceramic bearings, turn your epa down to 70%, only pull full throttle when forced to, etc, you may not feel fade before the 10 minute mark.

P.s. It looks like you are coming from exclusively running on road to off road. Quick piece of advice, this is off road, there are bumps, jumps, ruts, rocks, etc. you won't need to be any where near as precise in your setup as your used to. Don't get me wrong, your camber still needs to be the same left to right, just not with in .1*.

Oh, and that setup station & tweak station you use every run, leave it at home & get an rpm camber & ride height gauge

I currently have Xray XB4 so I know what you mean by leaving the other parts at home I live in Taiwan and Hobbywing is very popular here so I will probably go with their motor and esc. Have run their ESC before and really like the program box.
You think 2200 or 2250kv motor will be more suitable for my local track?

I can't watch the video of your track (it comes up as private), so I don't know what your track looks like. I assume you are on a fairly large out door track.

The 2200kv is a larger can (42mm x 74mm vs. 40mm x 68mm). This should get you more torque & lower absolute rpms. The final speed can be adjusted with pinion size, so I would recommend the 2200kv. If your off road track looks more like an on road (all fast sweepers, few hairpins, plenty of run up to the jumps), the 2250kv with lower weight & higher rpms may be better. If your track is a small track (lots of hair pins, short run ups to jumps, short straights, etc), the 1800kv may be better.

My track is of the small variety, so I run a 1900kv Tekin geared 14/46. It has a much smoother & more powerful acceleration curve than the 2050kv. I VERY much prefer the 1900kv on my track. On large out door tracks I have to gear it up WAY up to keep up on the front straight, 18-19/46. That puts more heat in the motor (180-190* vs 150-160*), but it is still manageable. One of these days I'll get a higher kv motor just for out doors.
