First time building a 10th and ball diff for that matter, just installed the rear and notice that the t nut is preventing the left arm from moving up. I compressed the spring a bit before building and ball diff feels smooth.
Do I need to just tighten the t nut more to get the movement and make the ball diff tighter?

the t-nut could be in the wrong diff half also. it only properly fits in the correct diff half

I'll tighten the t nut up a little and see what it looks like. The manual says locked and back out 1/8th but I followed the vids from page 1 and it ended like the picture.

The white tab should be pretty much bottomed out in the channel. If it doesn't something is probably wrong so it's probably installed in the diff backwards, then the diff was installed backwards

It will tighten up all the way into the channel but the diff felt too tight so I backed it out.

Diff was installed with the head of the trust bolt on the passenger side

The b5 uses metric measurments, the B4 was imperial, i wonder if the gears themselves have also been converted?

It may feel a little tight until you break it in or turn it by hand with tires on the wheels.

If you only compressed the spring "a bit" it was probably not enough. You want to do it all the way till the coils touch each other, spin it 180 and do it again.

Gears are still 48 pitch, which is English. The bearings that supported the diff on the last generation B4 buggy were metric.
