i just got a superbrain. I have been using a wall charger for months i have a orion 1600 and a stickman 2500 for my transmitter. The charger is confusing as hell for me right now and i am a electrician
What amp rate should i charge my 1600 even at .3 isn't that twice the recomended capacity? should it be .16? and the milivolt setting is 5 mv per cell?
Please help.

If my pack has been sitting for a week or 2 without use I like to cycle my receiver packs I use trinity IB 1600 or EP 1500 packs. When I cycle the pack I discharge at .9 and charge at .7-1 amp. The pack comes to life after 2 cycles and has plenty of runtime the next day at the track. The biggest enemy of nimh packs is heat. Warm is ok but hot will destroy the cells. I have a superbrain 977 which works well but my fav charger is the hyperion 606 it seems to charge the packs better and fill the cells to their capacity. When I charge my glow igniter on the 977 the meter on top only reads about 1/2 into the green but when I use the 606i with the same settings (.5-.8) the meter goes all the way to the top.

You are saying 1 amp but the instructions say that 1000 mah is equal to 1 amp so a 3000 mah would be charged at 3 amps??? So 1600 would be charged at 1.5 amps and it also says you can charge at a even higher rate if need be 1.5 per 1000 mah. so a 3000 could be charged at 4.5 amps? How long will it take at 1 amp?

also my charger is reading 6.5 volts on a 6 volt battery?? Is this normal?

I always have 2 settings on my chargers for small reciever packs like 1500-1700. Setting #1 is 1.5amps then when the packs cool I hit them again at setting #2 0.5amps. Memory slot #1 is not the best way to make your packs last the longest as far as life cycles go but #2 takes too long but is much more friendly to your pack. Pick your poison & Dreaux AA size batts are more tollerant of over 1C charging but never go over 1C with "2/3 A" size reciever packs they get very hot very fast & will cut your potential life span in 1/2. 1/2C or less is what is recomended with 2/3 A cells.
