So what are the differences between the SER400017 and SER400018 kits? Besides the obvious, one comes with aluminum chassis and the other comes with carbon fiber chassis.

Do both of these kits come with RRS included?

When I talked to Ronald Barr, he siad no, because they have re-engineered the RRS to incorporate the new F/R suspension block into the RRS system. I was trying to get them to change the setup sheet for the old type RRS system, but he said they wouldn't because of the change.

You can see that because of the new motor mount with the idler pulley assembly requiring 2 screws in the bottom portion to secure it to the chassis that there are no additional holes for the original RRS system, much like it can't be used on a 2.0 411 or older car.

Really guys yet ANOTHER s411 thread. All the other info in the other threads is still applicable. Creating multiple threads (especially when the changes are so minor is pointless). I was dead against the 3.0 thread being created too.

Just chassis difference. No RRS included in either of my kits (I have one alu and one carbon).

I agree, and I've asked for this thread to be closed. 50% of the posts in this thread are from one user posting old info that's already been discussed about in the 3.0 thread.

If we can request the title of the 3.0 thread to include 4.0 in it then it will kill this thread for good.

So what would be the advantage/disadvantage of carbon vs aluminum chassis? I find it odd they offer both. Just trying to learn here...

Carbon low to medium grip and high temps. Alu for medium to high grip. The Alu doesn't like high temp. It goes to mush outside in summer. The Alu has a lower CG so high grip it doesn't flip as much. I highly recommend the new XH arms in all conditions for both chassis.

Haven't tried both, but from what I've heard and read, aluminum flexes less than carbon, so it's preferred on high grip surfaces like carpet. With more flex, carbon is preferred on lower grip surfaces like low grip carpet or asphalt. It a tuning option, like the different thicknesses of the top decks. The days of one chassis and top deck fits all are over.
