I'm planning on buying one of these as my first engine for the season so I'm wanting the engine that last longer easier to tune holds a tune and has great power. This engine will go from buggy to truggy every now and then but mostly will be for buggy, I'm really looking for a nice engine that will last LONG I'm sik of buying engines.

i would take the ninja even though its $100 more, then i would get the rebuild r/p/s for about $120. should have a ballistic motor for about 50 gallons with regular bearing and oring replacement.

Hey J-blaze,

do you really think an OS based motor could hold up to 50 gallons with regurlar maintenance?? i know they are great engines but its known that OS based engines have a shorter life span than other italian engines!! correct me if am wrong

so what is your thoughts on longer lifespan nova or ninja? I saw a plus 4 at arc the other day n it sounded rediculous fast and I have a ninja right now n I love it but it didn't seem to have the plus 4 that night anywhere.

alright, 50 gallons would be a stretch but if a stock v-spec can go 20 gallons (1 known occurance) i'm sure a ninja could. no case issues and since the crank on the ninja won't wear, once you rebuild the motor and install new bearings and orings it should last just as long after the rebuild. so 15 gallons with a couple pinches, then re-build and a couple pinches later is probably closer to 30 gallons. the nova's are probably the best 1 time motor since rebuilding them would be pointless because of cost, so based on the original question "I'm wanting the engine that last longer easier to tune holds a tune and has great power" i came up with my suggestion. also i was thinking of the $250 p5xl not the $300 p4, so $40 plus the re-build.

true, since all the v-spec i have heard of around here only go 3 gallons the ninja wins hands down.

I don't know what is better. It's really a opinion vs fact thing. Everyone has a opinion.

Tuning, pipe/header,fuel, Set-up and tires are all important for success.

I own a Nova but i have seen the Ninja. For an extra $50 or $60 bucks give me a Ninja!!!

Lol this is hard to choose I have 3 ninjas but really want that nova ever since I seen it run. Hearing ppl talk about ninjas and knowing how easy they are tuning i'm feeling like trying the nova is not needed maybe I should just keep playing with my ninja till I no everything about it.

If I were you I would get the Nova. Its always good to experience different engines. Novas have an excellent reputation as we all know. In may be just right for your driving style. I personally have never owned an O.S. based engine and would like to try it. So that's why the Ninja will be my next engine!!
