I like Mugen. It's the right balance of tech/features and sensible design for me. It performs, lasts, is inexpensive on parts and has been this way since the original MBX5.

That said, mine's about to become a Tekno V4. My favorite nitro engine still sux.

I wouldn't count out the Hot Bodies, but I do agree Mugen will end up on top..

my mbx6t has a nice chassis I would choose the xray 808 but they have some flex issues at the moment.

My lhs stocks parts for losi and mugen last year switched from losi to mugen,both have pros and cons,mugen cheaper

mbx6 is my 1st 1/8 buggy, after 2 gallons i replaced all the bearings with only 1 being gritty(l/r inner) not counting clutch. only parts failures were the rear bulkhead( i forgot to install 2 of the 4 screws on the shock tower) and a left rear hinge pin due to a pretty violent somersault outside the track. i find it very easy to drive in comparison to losi and associated(likely due to individual setups) it works for me
