I agree with Jaz. The HB D8 is a very strong capable buggy. It also comes in at a price point that no one can beat.

engine for d8
if tight budget = werks b2 160$ (this engine is for small to medium size tracks)+ 2058 werks tuned pipe (90$)
if budget is evn tighter b2 + thunder tiger 2035 pipe .. cost is 40$ (but its betr to get a used werks tuned pipe if u can find one in decent condition)

u can get a argus or alpha but your gonna waste lots of money on fuel for engine breakin .. takes about 2 gallons or more .

novarossi p5 (if u can get it for around 220$ )+ dynamite 086 (50$)

there are more engines out there but i can only think of these ryt now .

ok so here is the list:
used hot bodies d8
Any real difference between the older D8 and the Hara edition?

Werks B2 and Werks 2058 pipe

2 used savox servos, any recommendation?
I was thinking 1256 for steering.

used starter box, any brand work better than others?

Particular clutch, flywheel, and shoe to use?

Then tires, receiver battery, bryons 30%, futaba 603ff receiver and everything else i have.

Thanks for all the help, i'm getting a good idea now.

I'm not looking to buy right now. It's winter right now and there is no indoor racing here plus I need to save up some funds. But thank you.

For a first time racer it does not matter what model you get .... Any reputable buggy that has had little use will do.

Yes the D8 is arguably tougher than many, and cheaper. However I say just go with the best deal - a buggy that has been well maintained and has a few spares.

You should be able to get D8, 8ight 2.0, RC8B, MBX6 with a few extra bits easily enough in your price range. I regularly see them having done maybe 1 gallon and with about $100 - $200 spares included, all for about half RRP

Ok thanks guys. I've heard of the D8 driveshaft problem, but haven't really looked in to how to fix it, is it pretty easy?

I think i am going to stick with the D8, just because of its toughness.
I believe i have a buyer on my savage, lets see if he follows through.

Look at Hot Bodies (D8) for a really inexpensive but capable buggy to race. You can get a used one for $150

2 used servo's $100
Used starter box $50
New engine pipe combo- $200- dont buy a used engine!
1 set of tires to get started -$45
RX battery, glow starter, glow plug, fuel $75

For slightly over $600, you are racing with top notch gear

D8 is good cboice for buggy also keep eyes open for someone selling complete rig sometimes can get a smoking deal when someone else have to sell thier stuff
x, however many that makes.. D8 Hara is very capable, and readily available in good used condition. I noticed you said Truck, do you mean a truggy? If so D8T, they are a bit more scarce used but can be found..

Get the Hara if you can, but the Original with long rear shocks it just as capable.. For servos look for HiTec 5955 or 7955's also.. I run a 3 shoe clutch, but most guys are runnng a 4 shoe like the Werks/Ascendancy cltuch.. Check Ebay for the RX, if you want new, but double check amain before buying, I messed up and got off ebay when Amain had at same price plus discount codes..

My phone probably changed truggy in to truck, it does stuff like that all the time.

Thanks, i would prefer the hara. Thanks for the suggestions, and i always shop around, i will probably buy a used rx.
