Default JJ Wang does it again!

Every 4 years, the Shanghai Municipal Government holds the Shanghai Games, which includes RC racing. At this year’s race held at the Shanghai International R/C Speedway, Team Murnan driver JJ Wang took the gold medal driving his Mugen MTX4 powered by Murnan Modified M3. The win was not easy as JJ started the race 40 seconds late from the pits due to tire issues. So right off the starting gate, JJ was almost 3 laps down from the lead. The Murnan M3 showed tremendous bottom-end power and JJ’s Mugen was clearly the fastest car on the track. Driving aggressively and catching the lead car towards the end, JJ pushed hard and pressured the lead car to make a mistake, which JJ capitalized and overtook the lead with 3 minutes left. A great win for the 12-year old and great power from Murnan. JJ not only won the gold medal , but also received the top prize money given to him by the city district he represented as a form of reward for his winning result.

Great Job JJ. Sure would be cool if RC got so popular here that our governments would start supporting the hobby as much as the Chinese government does. It almost seems like a sport there.

Hi Grinder,

which motor is faster on a medium sized track - Fully modified Kangaroo or lite tuned 35+21? I assume the Kangaroo gets better mileage due to the smaller crank...

...and is there a difference between the Kangaroo you offer and the Sydney version Nova shows on their website?

Thanks a lot for your feedback, Stefan

Guys, this thread is "only" 180 pages long. Start reading at like page 120 and you know which engine is faster at what scenario....

Hi. On a medium sized track you will be hard pressed to see any difference in laptimes between the two engines. With the same gearing, and tire diameter the MM Kangaroo will have a more explosive low end, but can seem to go flat compared to the modified 9 port engines on a long straight. The lite tune 35-21 is a little smoother out of the corners, but will walk the Kangaroo down at the end of the straight.

Fuel mileage winner of the two is the Kangaroo.

The only Kangaroo I offer is the Sydney KANGAROO .21SYDWC, which is the latest one with the most updates.

I updated my website to the correct name for the current Kangaroo engine. Thanks for noticing that.

The Modified RBM3 is more powerful than any stock, or lite tuned .12 on the market!

The Murnan Modified Novarossi 35+21 Drag Mod is my most powerful engine.

As far as stock engines I have tested, the latest Flash Special has the most HP, and torque. It is a little smoother than the 35+21 with slightly more peak HP, and torque.

I prefer the Novarossi 2015 on both engines for on road racing. For IGT if legal use the Novarossi 9886 pipe on either engine.

Default 10th Annual Paris Memorial

I've put Murnan modded .21 Flash Special in my GT for this race. I've finished 1st in the GT class over the weekend. Great engine and great mod. Plenty of power in the low, mid and high end. This engine seems to have better overall power with Nova. 9886(Ofna 086) pipe comparing to other pipes.

Default Thanks for a great mod Murnan!

I just recently had one of my OS XZ .28 motors modded and am very impressed with the work.

I am a machinist by trade so I can appreciate the work and detail that went into the job.

Engine runs crazy fast and good on fuel.

Thanks for the fast turnaround.
