the Xenon tape is one of the best! 1 strip will last you a whole day's racing... plus it comes in Purple.

yea..I've used the regular 3M strapping tape... but use new tape for every run. and make sure you file the slots where the tape goes through. Sometime I double wrap the batteries for extra protection especially during the mains.

Thats me with the Xenon tape during a race a month or two ago. Incidently, that tape was used during a couple of bashing sessions before the race and I was still using it thruout most of the race till before the main which I would usually change to a new strip as a precaution.

Recently, I was unfortunate enough to get taken out by another car while I was flooring it down the 40m straight at the track I race at. This car came out onto the straight at the halfway mark (there was no barrier seperating the inside technical section and the straight at the middle of the straight, some jokers use this as a shortcut) and smashed into my car, my cells came flying out but the tape hung on and ripped off all the shrinkwrap off my cells, thats how strongly the cells are held by the Xenon tape.

both the xenon or team1rc strapping tape work well...

If you just want black you can get it here...

I've used the same piece of Team1 tape for practice and 3qual + Main no problem. Plus it's only $6.
