Just went through my car to try and get it all free and smooth. Resulted in more steering. But the car atill doesnt look like the new B5M cars. I only have changed is white springs in the rear, and 3+1 toe block.

The same opposite affect will be felt with braking. One will put more pressure on the rear tires under braking, and the other will put more pressure on the front tires. Although I haven't thought about it enough to know which does which.

My prediction is that if you run on a high-grip track where forward traction is in abundance, the MM3 will be THEE setup to run.

May be an interesting to try on my car. I jump between dirt and carpet over the winter.

I think you all are going to hate mm3 on anything other than carpet. The b5m just doesn't have enough static weight over the rear to generate traction. You'll have to add a ton more weight to the rear than you'll save by going to the 3 gear to get it to work. I know, as I've had the option to run mm3 on my durango since I bought it three years ago. You guys are late to the party!

With that said, an mm3 car with enough weight over the rear drives like a dream

My MM has plenty of rear bite as is on a med-grip dirt track. The 3 gear will be interesting to see in action. I'm sure the stock guys will be testing is out soon enough.

I should clarify that mm4 transfers weight to the rear of the car via the rotation of the motor. That weight transfer generates grip. Without that weight transfer, you have to add weight weight to compensate to maintain the same grip you had before.

I think stock guys will hate it the most.

I suppose it'll depend on the track conditions. I could see it working well around here, but we'll see.

the durango MM3 didnt make enough traction to get around the track on outdoor sugar. Maybe the b5 is different but i woudlnt even consider trying it unless i saw the top guys start running it first.

Anyone else find it odd that the RM3 and MM4 gearboxes use the same motor plate, gearcover and topshaft, but the MM3 needs special parts?

*Facepalm* Yep, that would explain the motor plate and gear cover. They are probably identical or nearly identical but mirrored. I still don't understand why the topshaft has a new part number. Are they lengthening it to help center the motor?

It's the aluminum topshaft and it uses the 5mm bearing vs. the standard 6mm. it's all stated in the write-up.

looks like they are going to a smaller bearing to further reduce the rotating mass.

I broke a front pin brace outside as well running mod, I now have the AE aluminum one. I don't like to leave much to chance when I race so I usually stock up on arms, a set of shock towers, c-blocks, knuckles and an extra set of shock shafts, and turnbuckles for up front.
