do you lose alot of traction because the graphite is stiff , or does it still have same flex?

There are very simple deflection tests that should be performed to compare the stiffness of this chassis to the stock one.

Carbon Chassis
We are in the process of getting this data together for a direct comparison. We are doing deflection and twist tests of different lay-up schedules.
I don't think we have lost any traction, everyone thinks it actually puts the power down more efficiently than the stock one. We are trying alot of different setups, as the car is so much lighter than stock.

What follows are some questions. They are just that. They aren't flames...
1) Why the CF Chassis? What short-comings of the stock chassis (Pro) are you addressing if any?
2) What features did you build in that improve functionality of the chassis?
2a) What makes your chassis better than the stock chassis that makes your chassis more than "bling"?
3) What factors made you decide on the thickness of the chassis material you chose?
4) Wear - I drive on some pretty abrasive tracks that can eat a chassis in half a season, how does the CF wear compared to the stock chassis?

There are different types of carbon fiber weeve all of which have different characteristics. Please explain the woven CF material you've chosen and why. I see that it's the less expensive loose weeve. How many plies? Are you using a fiberglass core like some companies do to reduce cost? Is the chassis CNC machined?

Aluminum motor mount insert. the 2nd version will have replaceable front and rear skid plates and droop screw plates

Again weight. Also carbon once molded will flex but always go back to it's original position, not bend and stay bent like aluminum. Also all the loading is spread through the whole chassis not just in the front or rear to say.

We chose the 4mm thickness because we thought that would be a good starting point, and everything would transfer directly over.
4) Wear - I drive on some pretty abrasive tracks that can eat a chassis in half a season, how does the CF wear compared to the stock chassis?
Wear was a factor we took into consideration, as I stated above the 2nd generation prototypes will have replaceable skid plates in the front and rear. Which we will be able to make out of an assortment of materials.
The Chassis is 100% carbon fiber. The plain weave is easier to deal with in the process we are using. The chassis is 95% molded with 5% post machining.
The buggy is at minimum weight with no Titanium.
