Well i got my hands on the 3racing spool for the TB-03 and just went to trail fit it in my EVO V.

Not good news im affraid, just test fitted it into the gear box and there a good 3-4mm of sideways movement without any shims being fitted.

For some reason the spool has just three screw points for the bevel gear where tamiya use four points so holes dont line up and seem to be 0.5-1mm further out on the spool aswell.

Oh well looks like i will wait for the tamiya spool to come out, either that or it will stay an unraced shelf queen .

What about if 3Racing spool is desingned to use diff gear as it has it has '9 holes' which can be divided by 3?

Hi,

I know this not a 'For Sale-thread', but still I am putting here a link to my eBay-auction, because I am quite sure this should interest all EVO 5-ethusiasts

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=120345682551

And if you happen to have any questions or suggestions, please send me a pm.

Tommi.

Just asking if anyone tried running Tamiya TB Evo V with LRP Sphere TC Spec ESC with Vector X-11 3.5 turn motor. How was the feel actually? What is the recommendation gear ratio with respect to the provided manual with can go with 30t pinion & 96t spur?

By the way I am using TC Spec with Novak Velocity 4.5 with 34/96. So far so good. However if compare the motor. LRP X-11 rotor is notcy while with novak the car can glide easily when idle.

Hey TB Evo Guys;

-My Evo 5 also had a problem with the Rear Upright(Bearing Problem). . . . .I had to install a new Upright and Bearings.-----You guys said something about a Bearing Spacer?. . . . .A spacer can fit in those Rear Uprights?(What`s the item #?).

I`ve tried my best to get My Evo 5 to run just as good as my kits with a Spool.....It runs well now(with an Orion Element Motor).
-But; I will really like to run it with a Spool.

Tamiya is getting OUT-OF-Hand with these total upgrade kits(Evo 5 to EVO 5 MS and TRF 416 to 416 World Edition). The world has no money; why make new platforms? I`m just waiting for a Evo 5 Spool.....Ha Ha!

Merry Christmas. . . . .Happy New Year!

Take Care

thanks.
I was more concerned with which combo's fit. (where the spur and pinion actually can mesh)
or really just what spur most people were using for 17.5 BL.

I'd use a 78t spur and a set of pinions between 50 & 54 teeth. you'll have to notch the top deck though...

Do you guys know if I can run 96/47 without having to mod the upper deck? TIA

with that gearing combo, modifying the upper deck is unnecessary.
