Anyone know how the mip eco top shaft lines up with CB cut gears?
It looks like the gear isnt as wide as the stock top shaft and i was wondering if it was "cut to center" or "justified" off to one side and might not line up nice with cut gears?

Ive also been wondering at how often to rebuild them. Im still new enough to racing where I cant tell when something is bad and needs to be rebuilt. so I end up asking the pros.
I cant imagine doing the shocks before each club race but i should prolly do them more often like maybe every 4 race weekends.

That said, rebuild is super easy to gauge - if you take all the fluid out, the shaft should slide easily through the seals - if it sticks, then it's time for new o rings.

I change fluid based on outside temp. If it gets warmer, I go to a thicker fluid, if it cools off, I thin out my fluid.

I also recommend these shock shaft pliers. They have different sizes for shafts and also different sizes for the caps. Another great feature is the thread sizer on it.
Nothing like having the right tools for the job!

I know right!;( it's sad! I just raced last weekend and we had 6 stadium trucks and 3 2wd buggy, at least the indoor tracks are blowing up!
I made yesterday my maiden ride with the b5m on our local track. After the first jump I crashed and broke the rear shock mount! Spare parts were on order, so after only maybe 5min driving I went back home and ordered a couple more.
So far, I'm having some mixed feelings about the b5m.

Once you get some time with it the mixed feelings will go away.

That said, a usual issue is the alloy C or D block not getting loctite on it.
That said, the b5m breaking is VERY easy to fix - don't crash.

If you're new to 10th scale and or 2wd racing... I suggest running a 17.5 class if your track has it. For me it made the car a lot more manageable, crashes are less frequent and at a slower speed when they do happen. The stock class is just crazy competitive and to get anywhere it takes some tweaking.
The Xrings just have a longer service life, and are on the smoother side.
Will it make a difference if you're crashing every lap? Nope.

Compared to the B4 series of cars ...the 5 is 100x's stronger...it seems I used to break at least 1 arm every time I drove...keep it steady and you will start to understand the car and excel
