OFNA Late Model Oval vs. GTP2e
Why is it preferable to use the GTP2e over a OFNA Late Model Oval for onroad?
My reasons for liking the Oval version is:
Is there something about the GTP2e that makes it more suitable for onroad aside from the included Protoform body?
My reasons for liking the Oval version is:
- Price
- Front and rear pillow ball suspension
- Lower profile rear shocks and shock tower
Is there something about the GTP2e that makes it more suitable for onroad aside from the included Protoform body?

That true you get the rear pivot ball suspension but now you have a body that can't be use.

4S charging
Okay, I thought I was just gonna pick up a 4s pack and throw it on my current charger for 2s batteries and thats it. Just checked the specs and it says I can only charge at 4A with a 4s pack. With a 5000mah pack that works out to about 1 hour and 15 minutes. No biggie but, how much charge do these things use in a normal 5min qualifier?
If it uses the whole 5000mah then its a pain to pump it back up in time for the next heat. If its only about 3000mah used then that's not so bad.
How do you guys manage your charging to stay in pace with the race schedule? Having more packs is nice but can get awful expensive. Are there any special chargers you guys use that get these 4s packs charged quicker?

Even if I charge at 8A which is less than 2C thats not so bad but do I need 24V?
EDIT:
Okay, I saw this and it sounds like a great deal considering its price and charge rate.

FWIW, my charger only charges lipo at 1C. I have a 2050KV motor in my GTP2e and use about 2600ish ma in 5min. I have two cheap 4500ma packs, charge up the night before. Use pack A for Q1, charge A for main (at the track), use B for Q2.
I run 2 classes and it does not get in my way.

Okay, I checked the spec sheet for it and it says I need a 24V input? My power supply only has 12V with a maximum of 9A, will that do?

I wanted a charger that could handle charging 2 different packs at the sametime.

My conversion nearly done ,teaser pics
My conversion is almost done, heres some tease pics of the parts I made.
Aluminum is 7075,and Titanium 6ALV4
I have a older gtp, with a 4mm cnc option chassis ,converting to BL
Sorry but this is my first attemps at using my mill , no cnc
Motor mount
Stand up servo mount
DM1 bumper adapters ,titanium
I'll let you guess what these are for
Next up carbon parts, I cut on my mill,
I went cheap and used abs sheet to make a battery tray

Charge rate
Okay so for 5min the typical mah used is about 3000mah. If I throw it on a charger that allows for a maximum of 4A with 4s packs would it be charging it at 1.3C for the 3000mah I need to put back in the pack? Or is that 4A only apply to its full capacity when at 5000mah which works out to .8C?
