from what I was told, and have experienced in building mine, the parts fit is kinda tight, but after breaking in an new engine, the parts will be nice and free.

Just make sure you have a good wrench set so as to not damage the hexes on the screws.

Whoever is selling them for 499.99 isnt making any money. They cost the dealers $450 plus shipping.

Hell I was elated to pay 529 + shipping..

Most good LHS's will sell kits on the cheap, because they know they will make $$ on parts sales.

technically, nobody is supposed to advertise them for cheaper than $599.99 according to the dealer agreement with horizon. But it happens.

Ok... I can't help it. four hundred ninety-nine bucks, and ninety five cents. That's right folks. Sweet huh? PM me if you want their #.

The Eight parts are $$$$$ wow.... pair of front arms... $14!

The Jammin has front AND rears for $12....

That's the biggest problem I have with the Losi.... hope the car is tough cause the parts will kill you.
Yeah, and Jammin's quality is top notch too........

Thumbs up Engine Combo's

I just got my 8ight yesterday and started putting it together. Horizon Hobbies is selling it for the listed price of $599.99, but RC-Hobbies is doing a package deal consisting of motor and pipe for $899 for a WASP combo or $849 for a OS Vspec combo. The pipe is a JP2. I chose the WASP combo.
So what other engines are being used? It would be great to here from all of you as to your preferences.

Hell Im going to use a .21BF for the local club races (amazing motor for the price), maybe a S7Worlds for everything else.

I plugged all the screw sizes into a paticular website to find the hex sizes used. This is not garanteed, but I bet it's dead on.

Your wrong on that one. They might make you a good deal on the buggy but they make their money on all the stuff they sell you to put in it. I just got my 8ight for a smokin good price but my total order was almost $1650. Got a motor, pipe, manifold, two $105 servos, reciever, lipo reciver pack and regulator, starter box, personal transponder,a few extra glow plugs, oh yea and some paint, LOL.

I've just been working on my 8ight and found something to watch out for. The planetary gears have burrs on them where the pin passes through. I used a small jeweler's file and they smoothed right up. They were binding on the diff pins before I did this.

I had burrs on the driveshafts that were binding the movement of the CVA's, nothing on the gears though.

Got mine last night and finished building it this morning.... it went well but I did have the burs on the planetary gears also....... I put a P5X in mine and a JP2 pipe. Just have to do the worst part now, Break in the engine ... I wish we could buy engines pre-broke in !!! That would be sweet
