I got the new Yok diaphragm shock caps for the TC3 this weekend and will test them out this Sunday on an outdoor parking lot track(100'X50'). The bladders make assembly much easier as you get equal oil in all four shocks and they all rebound the same. Note on the shock caps, Yok recommends that you remove the inner sponge on the bobin before assembling.

nice track. i'll get a pic of my local as soon as we start running. Hopefully April 1. I've never run oval, there's not to many in NJ. I only get to run road course. I don't think i'm going to get to run my TC-3 outdoors this summer. I got enough to run (NTC-3, Impact, my GT, and my B4. ) thats not counting the pan car i just got. but i'll try the shock towers in carpet and let you know what i find.

I'd like to free up my drivetrain and I saw once a website that walks you through on where are the binding points of the drivetrain and where to sand or dremel parts of it. I just couldn't find the link to that site. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Tweeter: Yeah i was never much of an oval fan either. I was glad that they let us race on the entire track! I sure would hate to run just oval TC... and replace a new right front tire every run! That banking is hard on tires! Let me know what you find out about the shock towers on carpet. If you would like me to make you a set of towers and send them to ya... let me know. It wouldnt take long for me to do them.

Proudwinner... that foam "volume compensator" on the bobbin is a pain to work with. Im glad to see Yok doesnt want them in the shocks! Let us know how they are.

I drilled 2.5mm holesin the shock caps yesterday, ehen I rebuilt them... and then I screwed some 3mm screws for purge... rebuilt everything very easily, fill the shock bodies up to the top, a few drops in the caps, close, screw, push the piston, clean up the extra oil, and screw in the pruge screw...

but it leaks like heck now... I had to put some silicon joint around the mess... any suggestions about what I did wrong?

get the yok shock caps they are a direct replacement for the AE shock caps.

What kind of settings do you guys use on your radios?

On my Lynx 3D I use about 80 % steering rate and 50-60% exponential rate (Winter season, indoor carpet with rubber tires. Mostly tight technical tracks).

How do you feel about using negative/reversed exp. rate on the throttle? I think this was recommended in the Lynx manual for stock racing.

I would like to know what the really fast guys use so I don’t put on any bad habits while developing my driving skills.

All comments and suggestions are welcome!

Lonestar: What kind of threads is the screws?
I would imagine you should use fine threaded screws for this and if possible cone threads (like in NPT threads).

I have seen someone else do this with good results, but I just cant remember which website it was on... It could have been a magazine, like RC Car Action.
