Well, i like 2 degrees camber when I use my X1 with rubbers, at least best for me this way i think , always using 0571/0572 Shimizus rubbers. And 1 or 1,5 camber with foams. Maybe i´m wrong but i fell better this way with rubbers.

imo, the VII has more setting options for tuners that know how to get the most out of it, where as with the X1 you are always limited by a piece of flexing fibreglass, that will never be as consistent as dampers/springs
Both cars work well, though the X1 is easier to build, and slightly more durable depending on the t-bar you use
Totally right on. There were a lot of times I felt like I was working around things to get what I wanted out of the T bar F104. The VII made me happy the first day I drove it just because I could take an issue and work on it directly with the correct adjustment. Just the fact that the car can be set for tweak instead of chasing stressed t bars is calming to my nerves

I drove my F104 PRO with 1° camber, gold springs at front and with the new TCS rubber tires and on power the car was less responsive with steering (isn't that oversteer?)
I need some more steering respons, so i will try 1.5° camber and perhaps with the silver springs or the front tires with full tire treathment (i always do half of the tire)

Stiffen your center spring or make the shock more level. You have on power understeer. Going softer on the front end will make it crazy off power going into corners.

Oversteer=crash into barrier rear end first
Understeer=crash into barrier front end first
Power=how fast you hit barrier
Torque=how far you move barrier when you hit

Center spring is the yellow one, i will try the blue one first and then try to level the center shock. Thx for advice.
Still learning about tuning the F104 as i haven't been that much busy with F1 cars.
Trying to get more practice with the F104 cars for next years tamiya season.

some questions about the setup from Fred Medel.

It says 1.5° toe angle front (is that toe out or toe in?)
It also says rebound stroke, how and where do i messure that?
And upright spacer is 4mm, is that above or under steering upright?
Also 1mm spacer between front camber plate and ball nut/ball connector, but what kind of 5mm ball thing did he use?
Did he use the steering servo in standard configuration or did he use a low profile servo with the nessacery spacers?

I am running FMW's tamiya track setup:

http://www.teamtrf.com/index.php/set...a-track-set-up

on my asphalt track and I need MORE entry steering, off power. mid and exit are pretty good. I ran the steel driveshaft only difference.
The rear is STUCK, I could hammer throttle everywhere, 21.5, so I am willing to give up some rear.
It was very stable easy to drive everywhere, just getting killed on entry. I tried crazy rear droop, no help.
571/572
help!

Read the VII info link in my sig, I think that will point you in the right direction, seems these questions are answered there

Raise rear ride height, or even both front and rear to get the car to roll more
More front camber
Softer side springs, with less, or no pre-load (AE Black are a good option)
Which front uprights are you running, middle hole on alum uprights should help
Buggy grip on tires, full front if you really need that much

Contrary to some, imo a stiff car is less likely to carry corner speed, soften it up, and it will carve

uprights: running alum middle hole, offset axle.

I tired buggy grip from half to full and paragon half to 3/4 not much difference and it wore off quick

I think the softer is my answer. I did not know which way to go(hard/soft)
I am also going to try the CF rear axle.

What do you think about .5 shim under upper front arm, rear?

Something to try I guess, never felt balanced when i tried it

Inline axles will add some steering too

You may need to try some different tires, that's the biggest change, and most important
578 may free the back up some ?

What setup is killing you on entry ?

can you post a pic of your car ?
