Tamiya 1/12 R/C RM-01 "Racing Master"
#661
The car above is built with these hop-ups for 13.5SS (BlinkY) on high-grip carpet
For low to med grip asphalt the kit lower deck and lower brace are sufficient
Tamiya offer a side spring set, but imo the AE springs are superior, Silver, Green or black would be good to have for fine tuning
RC Carbon Rear Bulkhead Plate - RM01
RC RM01 Alum Pitch Damper Set
RC RM01 Front Axle - For 1/8" x 5/16" Bearing
RC RM01 Carbon Lower Brace
RC RM01 Carbon Lower Deck
RC Aluminum Motor Mount - RM01
RC Titanium Coated King Pin - RM01 3x31mm (2pcs)
RC Carbon Rr Body Mount Plate - RM01
RC RM01 Pitch Spring Set
Jaco/Parma wheels have the correct offset for the RM
Black front, Yellow rear are a good baseline
To add about 1mm of ride height up front remove the ring of plastic on the lower side of each upright
Also, if you do this mod, make sure to add 1mm of shim under the top e-clip, and don't use the lower e-clip
This keeps the lower clip groove on the kingpin from catching on the lower arm

hey guys I just join RM-01 club
I know the 58509 is a basic kit but it will get me racing 1/12th
what are some starter hop ups i should be looking at as a newbie?
im running trackstar 1cell esc & nano 3.7 battery
and not sure on motor....maybe a thunder power 17.5 for stock boost
from what i read the op front tires will be on order right away
any advice would be great

My RM-01 [#58509] arrived this morning.
Does anyone know what sort of run time I should expect using the Tamiya LiFE 1100 battery and the kit 380 motor ?
Cheers.

Build the car and run it, then see what if any hop-ups are necessary
Perhaps someone will chime in on how the Life battery setup works
Gratz on your new RM's
I've updated the first post on PG #1 with build tips & setup info

Just make sure you don't run the battery below 6V, i usually run between 5 and 10 minutes with an ESC for brushed motors.
Just to make sure i never get the battery voltage to low, cause the ESC doens't have a cut-off build in.
For longer run times i'm using a 1/18 2 cell 7.4V lipo, this works perfect and it also gives you a higher/better speed.
With this type of battery it's even better to use the 380 sport tuned motor from tamiya.
