Reedy Sonic

But that's the problem.
I will continue to see what settings I can change on my ESC (Black Diamond) and the motor to see if I can get any more from it.
With the Tekin, you can at least narrow the RPM start and finish to increase punch a bit.
Increasing the motor timing definitely helps with punch, but have to find the happy medium of ESC timing as well so I don't cook it.
Highest I've had the motor timing is the third notch but I'll try to go up to the 4th with a bit less on the ESC and see how it goes.

Modified motors seem to have their stators and rotors in diffrent physcal positions from their stock counterparts. Using these reedy sonic rotors as a clue it appears that the mod rotors have their magnets closer to the front of the motor...
Sonic Stock Rotor 12.5 x 25.0 (Part #956)
vs.
Sonic Modified Rotor 12.5 x 25.0 (Part #958)
... because that little brass collar is spacing the rotor away from the endbell/timing assembly. What I don't get is why?

Just bought one of these in 21.5 for f1 racing. I am replacing a 21.5 Novak that I was borrowing. How will this motor compare to the Novak? Hoping for a little more rpm since the f1 doesn't need a ton or torque. Please be honest in your answers.
Any tips are always appreciated. Thanks.

Ran this motor for the first time yesterday. It has more punch and more top end over the Novak I was using. Ran my fastest lap by 0.3 last night. Great motor.
It does seem to run 20 degrees hotter than the Novak. I noticed my Novak motors cool down after they have been run for a while. Will the reedy cool down as it breaks in? It didn't overheat but it got up around 150 with one spot temping at 160. The Novak ran around 130 with a hot spot of 145.

Is there a particular technique for removing the bearing from the sensor unit?
I can make it move a bit, but as the access hole on the opposite side is very small I can't get anything into it to push the bearing out.

HEY GUYS
Does anybody know how many degrees of timing does the neutral mark on the reedy sonic have? I have the version without any numerical markings. Also how much timing is each marking?
