I dont know if that firmware is available for the Stock Spec r10. I dont even for sure know it is cheater firmware. I just feels like it. And then there are the rumors. The black box will be pricey. I just buy lightly used in great condition r10 pro on here for 100-110. I try to save cash where i can

I am at work. it has an "11" in it. something like 081112. I am told the firmware versions are actually dates. so that firmware is nov 8 2011. The other one is a smaller number.

Default Anyone use Castle esc/motors on their B5M?

Curious,

I use a Castle Sidewinder combo in my SC10, I'm wondering if any of you people use a Mamba Max or anything like that in your B5M? Does Castle have a good reputation for power?

I'm a beginner in RC even though I've played around with this stuff for years. This is the first off-road kit that I'm assembling. Only did RTR in the past.

Sorry none of those would work, mini pins don't work, especially if the track get dragged before mains. This is a dirt track, I need something to dig in like a large pin. , bow ties work well if it's wet in the harder packed corners, but if dries out, those hard pack corners can be a pain. I will probably try the calibers.
In September, I will be going to stateline raceway in Fremont, IN, which will be a completely different setup.

will it "fit". with some modding it might if you use a shorty. Are they good? Nah, not really. If you want to keep the costs down and get a smaller/lighter esc look at the justock esc.

Most people here dont race on "dirt". My understanding is that the caliber style tires were designed to work in places that the old step pins worked. I ran the outdoors on unswept dry tracks and they were fine. if they work on your truck, they should "work" on your buggy.

For stateline bring JC flipouts! Great tire. Also bring some double dees just in case.

The general consensus is that Castle is not used at any serious level for racing. Personally would look elsewhere for a powerplant for your B5M.

my Xtreme stock showed up today. LCD box shows up friday. Kit should be done by monday (RM) - looking forward to it.

Side question per usual. Soldering - is it really that hard? I had my guy at the shop do my MM because i didn't want to screw up $250 of brand new electronics, but I think I need to take the plunge this time.
