I'm trying to get my car down to around 1285g without battery so I can use a normal shorty battery and be around 1510g ready to race. That way I'm sure to not loose any punch or top end towards the end of a 6min race.

Perhaps you're right! I guess the bottom line is that there is no standard for stating the weight of RC vehicles.
However, the difference in weight between tires/rims and a Brick SQ battery and a pan car battery are WAAAAAAAY different; not talking about a couple grams here.
I'm leaning to your idea of the car without added weight, rims/tires and battery.
My car weight without rims/tires, battery or added weight is 1132g (with wheel nuts on).

Need a square pack? Better grab one of these before they're gone...

Well I was doing good on my B5 build and just encountered a big problem. The axle is very tight in one of the drive cups. I swapped the axle to the other side and it fits good so its the outdrive cup. The outdrive either has a little to much coating on it or its not machined out enough. Its not the slots for the axle pins either its where the ball slides in and out of the cup. I can put pressure on it and it will go in and out but no way its not going to bind. I didn't build the shocks yet but I know its bad enough where the shock would stay compressed if I pushed the arm up.
