I'm leaning to your idea of the car without added weight, rims/tires and battery.

My car weight without rims/tires, battery or added weight is 1132g (with wheel nuts on).
lol, I was being sarcastic.... lol. FYI I have changed tires and gained/lost 40-50grams. Most people need to balance their weight around the electronics they own and the tires that work locally. I guess some guys might go buy all of the light electronics just to keep the weight low. Most guys buy the electronics they like. Even though the orion is heavy, many guys will run it because they like it. The will drop weight with alum bones, slipper eliminator, puck systems, Ti parts and so on. Getting you weight low with a RM plastic chassis car is not very hard. But the alum chassis of the B5M and the convertible cars makes it hard to get the weight low. Keep in mind though, sometime more weight is better. On a loose surface where I need to calm the car down, I like full packs. I have lightened cars to the point where they were undrivable.

The standard is ready run, as you would throw it on the track, that's how all rule books state that car weight is measured.

Go to RC10B5Nation and click on Jake Sanders' pictures, you'll see them there.

What's the benefit of running the straight arms on the front? I wonder if they're also using the B5 front shock tower.

Well I was doing good on my B5 build and just encountered a big problem. The axle is very tight in one of the drive cups. I swapped the axle to the other side and it fits good so its the outdrive cup. The outdrive either has a little to much coating on it or its not machined out enough. Its not the slots for the axle pins either its where the ball slides in and out of the cup. I can put pressure on it and it will go in and out but no way its not going to bind. I didn't build the shocks yet but I know its bad enough where the shock would stay compressed if I pushed the arm up.
