Default NITRO QUESTION

JS Racing .21 done by EB MODS - any thoughts?
Is a 5 port suitable for Altoona and surrounding tracks?
NOVA ROSSI P5XL - any thoughts?
Best engine available for $ 250.00 - thoughts?

If your need something just for local club racing anything from 3-5 ports is enough. I seen 3 ports run with the best of them on medium size tracks plus they have less fuel consumption.

OSR

js 21...have heard good things...i would for the price and local support

i would suggest if you get one...get it race ready...it has been broke in and ready for race tune...he uses a computer breakin process...he heat cycles it between i think 180 and 240...way better for the engine than using the car... just my 2 cents

Bigger is better!!! I think a 1,200 V Twin would be plenty of power for the local tracks!

I have a JP FX 21 B-5N (fully modded black engine, w/ceramic bearings) with about 1.5 gallons on it...it's just broken in. The engine is my backup but I would like to get another VSpec since that's what is in my car now.http://www.jpracing.com/en/products/...ines/index.php

You can look at it, tear it down and inspect if you want at Motorama. I put a brand new stock Novarossi crank in it because the modded crank
was cracked where they smoothed out the fuel delivery opening on the rear. Also have two spare rods, and one B-5N stock piston/sleeve with 2.5 gallons on it. $210 for all of it but you would also need to buy a set of restrictors because this engine is a beast!

Brad - I will have the T4 body you wanted at Motorama so stop by and pick it up. Chuck Lentz painted it for me...not sure if you ever met him. I only used the body a few weeks running Doug's old T4 and it looks brand new. http://ridgewaybodies.com/

OSR - You were running mod truck while I was those few weeks...who was in front of who?
I don't think everyone can keep up this smack talk for a couple more months.

Yeah, i put a tank through the same buggy at bumps sunday too, wow is that alot of motor, VERY smooth and crisp all through the rpm range,
i know i am planning to get one as a 2nd motor for my truggy.

you'll never be able to use it all at Altoona, probably the only track i've seen that would use it all would be blue diamond.

I will consider the engine. I do want something smooth though. I remember running mod truck, but forget what the score was me vs. you. I do remember what the score was me vs. Morris

What 1/8 scale are you running now?

Can anyone tell me if Novarossi makes Max Power nitro engines and if so are they just as good?

MBX-6 but I need to go over it and get the updated parts on. I have one of the original kits produced and Mugen made a bunch of running changes. The only updated part I did change was the revised front upper arms.

That engine is pretty smooth but when you yank on it the engine gets a little crazy. I liked having the power but it also can be settled down using the proper pipe/manifold combo. I have a bunch of Nova rossi compatible pipes/manifold combos that your welcome to try out.

Yes, they're 5 port Novarossi with red epoxied crank, standard button head, and 16.28mm bore & 16.80mm stroke. My sponser has 2 of them just for 1 out of 4 D8 buggies.
