just buy pre-mounts and be dont with it and say to he|| with all that balancing crap!!

I personally think tire balancing for off-road use is ridiculous. How many times are the tires even flat on the ground and not in a groove, or even on the ground AT ALL??

I would look at tire balancing to be more efficient for on-road car racing.

i am just interested to see how much of a difference it will make to balance a the wheels. i know it is important for normal cars, vans etc. but why don't 1/10th touring car drivers balance there tyres?

I was pitting for a guy with a Losi 8 this last weekend. I didn't look and see what tires he had on but when he was blipping it in the pits his front wheels were bouncing up and down at least an inch. Now imagine driving and trying to get traction with that. Let alone turn in the corners.

When the wheel doesn't stop at a specific spot, that means the wheel is balanced. If it swings clockwise vise versa, it is unbalanced

but they are dang close. close enough to not have to go through the balancing process, nor glue tires. so you can't go wrong

Pre-Mounts are no better than you can do yourself as far as balance
is concerned. It all comes down to the skill and time invested by the
person Gluing.

I have seen to many PL premounts come apart to ever trust them, AKA
wheels dont seem to last as well for me, and I have never even seen a
Panther premount. I'm sure they make them but there just not popular
around here. I guess my point is you severly limit yourself with premounts.

With the avalibility of foam less tires I can build a new set for 30 bucks.
AKA foams last forever and wheels can be reused several time. So for
the same budget as someone running premounts I get twice as many
tires. And thats not even considering the tuning options avalible with
todays foams.

Pre-Mounts exist for the same reason as RTRs and Race Rollers.

Have you actually run a balanced set? Or are you just That sure it will
not make a difference?

Makes a HUGE difference.... i dropped a full 2 seconds in lap times with my truggy by balancing tires. Helps out with just about EVERY aspect.

Guarantee you you will not see a single pro driver who has not balanced his tires.

I have glued my own, but didn't balance it. I guess it all depends on if your championship racing or just local club racing. For me local club, so pre-mounts or gluing my own w/o balancing is good for me. Now if I was to attend a big race, that may be a different story.

Club racing or not you should balance your wheels...Not only will your Bearings/Drivetrain thank you down the road but your car will perform just that much better on the track...If you think the tires shaking on the starter box Aren't effecting the car on the track you are Sadly mistaken.

Amen Integra. Off road tires have a hard enough time keeping contact. No need to have less contact because the tires aren't balanced.

Lift up the truck and give a blip of the throttle a couple times. If you tires and arms start flapping like the truck's trying to take flight, best of luck to ya keeping it planted and consistent. Why make it harder on yourself? Balance'em. At the very least, your bearings will thank ya.

Twice now I have spotted a problem in warm up when the car
started jumping on the box. One was a loose servo arm and the other
a loose C hub bolt. Both times it was obvious something was wrong
since the car should run almost perfectly smooth on the box with
a balanced set of tires. So even if you dont believe it helps with
traction it did save me from 2 DNFs.
