Default 21.5 MC2 are awesome!

We were lucky enough to get our hands on one of the MC2 21.5 and 17.5 motors for my sons USGT and stock TC.

He's ran the 21.5 on a couple race nights and for the first time pulled a TQ for one of the rounds at our local club. Super-Impressed with the MC2... we have our Canadian Nationals in a few weeks and we're excited to run the 17.5 there. If anything like the 21.5 - it's going to amazing!

Any updates on when the 17.5T will be back in stock? Trying to be patient but I'm running out of time before next points race...

Should hopefully have mine MC2's soon. With the track size being so large at the Canadian Onroad Nationals this year I'll need all the HP I can get!

Default F1

I have a 25.5 MC2 for F1. It's going to be on a medium sized carpet track (80 foot straight). When I opened the package, the timing was set well beyond 40, which is the highest mark on the can. Is there significance to this factory setting? Was it intentionally set at 45 deg by the factory? Or should I adjust it below 40? I've run it several times set between 30 and 35, but it seems a little sluggish. I didnt want to advance it any further to avoid over heating a new motor. Any recommendations? I have fdr at 3.1. Thank you for reading this.

Paul receives motors every week or two but similar to Team Scream, they are all spoken for before he even receives them. We are working on trying to figure out a better way to get a backorder system going and I hope to have more info on that soon. Unfortunately with the way the factory operates, we are limited on how many motors we can receive per shipment. On top of that, the orders that Paul receives from shops and racers sometimes is more than he can receive per shipment. It takes time for the manufacturer to go through each motor and make sure it is right, that's the price we are paying for a good quality product. None of them are just thrown together just to get them out the door.

I am checking on this but I think you will want to put the timing back up to 44*. It is standard for all MC2s to come set around 44-46* of timing. FDR I am unsure about for F1, thinking probably in the mid-to-upper 2 range. Like 2.5-7. You will need a fan for sure. This is my guess based on what folks ran on the MC1. I will let you know what I hear from Paul.

Put the timing back to where it was. The MC2 like the higher gearing and the timing around 42-45 is the sweet spot. check your temps too on the top of the can and not the bottom. You should be right in the ballpark for some good runs. Don't take your gearing below 3.0 for F1. The motor doesn't like it.

Yup, you should be fine with this. Paul got back to me and suggested 45* at 2.8-3.0. So start out with 3.0 FDR with 44 or 45*. Don't forget a fan if you aren't already running one.

Thanks for the replies free bird an dodge! I do have a fan the Temps had been in the 140s after a 6 min run. I'll put the timing back to 44 and try it. Thanks again for the advice.

Is the Wiki page updated to the new MC2 as far as timing and FDR's?

I would put the timing back to where it was. In Blinky we typically run the timing above 40degrees in all classes.
