BSR Racing BT-4 Budget Touring Car Kit
Hi, I thought I would share some build photos of the soon to be released BSR Racing 1/10th touring car from Hobbyking,
The build was a pleasure with good quality plastics, tight tolerences and nice machined parts, the kit comes with a set of wheels and tyres (around 32 rating) and a really nice body (pics to follow),
The only deviation from the stock build was 45/35 front/rear shock oil, front 1, rear 2 1/2 degrees camber and 1 degree front toe in.
First outing was a few runs at RC Arena (indoor on carpet) in Sydney Australia, once I'd raised the body to stop some binding, the car behaved beutifully, very easy to drive with lots of grip and very neutral when pushed to it's limits,
I'm looking forward to racing with it at my local SMA track to see what it can do on a more familiar venue.

Link works now.
Probaby yet another rebranding of some other car, I guess. Just like Hobbyking did with the "Turnigy TD 10" (=3racing Sakura Zero S) or the "BSR M.Rage" (=Nanda NRX-12).
So if anyone figures out what car this was originally, there are probably already reports and experiences out there.

This looks like a rebadged TR10.
The TR10 is about $170, if Hobbyking get this even close to $100 it'll be a fantastic deal.

Yes, they usually end up quite a bit cheaper than the original cars (even after these hit lower prices already). Often really great value then.

Old skoolie- thanks for the review! I was wondering how those kits were.. good to hear they appear to be a quality kit.

$122.52 for Standard Customers, less for Gold and Platinum. Due out mid December, if containers all arrive on time.
There is also a 10.5T ARR and 21.5T RTR that will follow shortly after. The RTR is the perfect set-up to get kids started in on-road.

Having examined and driven the build car at RC Arena in Sydney on the weekend I can say that the car is well designed and drove with confidence.
The polycarbonate body shell looks good and is quite thick and tough, shown below, definitely not as brittle as some other RTR shells are. I should know, I hit the side boards on the track often enough.

From initial observation it would seem some of the plastic parts while very good for a budget car would probably need to be upgraded with alloy, but i hear these alloy parts are already available so I'll be upgrading once I've built and run the standard version.

ahhh upgrading it with alloy defeats the purpose.... if that is indeed real carbon fiber, that car should silly light and ideal for stock class racing. hard to tell from the pics but looks like carbon reinforced plastic unlike the soft plastics spec r was using for bulkheads. id definitely be curious to try one out at the gold pricing lol.
i dont ever buy things from hobbyking though.
are those aluminum shocks? nice perk for sure.

Looking at the two cars, I think you are right, some differences between the TR10 and BT-4, the BT-4 has GRP shock towers with 5 shock positions instead of the TR10's three, Also the wheels and tyres (Tires, For our American friends) are different, the tyres in particular are really nice, there is an extra support for the servo on the BT-4
