Default loose front one way....

hey guys,i ran my car a couple of days back.and when i got home, checked my car and found that my front one way has some play, meaning it can move sideways.is that alright or it shud be that way?can i eliminate it by putting shims?the only thing i did to the one way is to install an aluminum pulley frm CSO.thats all. Thanks in advance.

That's normal, because when everything heats up, all parts expands, the play compensates for the expansion of the material.

Post Buy now or Wait

**FIRST POST**

Morning folks,

Basically as the title suggests, should I buy the 966, or wait for it's replacement which should be due out in a few months. I am in no rush so it makes no difference to me.

Also talking of the replacement has anyone heard on the development of it as yet?

Regards

Dubya aka for for the only time Wayne.

What makes you think that there will be a new car in a few months? I dont think so. And yes, you should get the car right now, its a vere good and fast car.

Thumbs up

Steve,

I was just going from past experiences where around spring summer time a new model is released. Is that not the case for this year?

Regards

Dubya

Default Serpent 966

The 966 has only been out for about a year <give or take a couple of months> and I really doubt if Serpent will be introducing a new car within the next year or so. They may produce some upgreads and call it 966R or something like that, but I think the 966 as it stands will be Serpents flag ship 1/th scale for at least the next 18 months.
I have one <among my other cars> and think it is a great car.

Default gear ratios

can anyone let me know how to calculate the final gear ratios?

example: final gear ratio of 1st gearing -16pinion with 49spur, 15 with 47, etc...
2nd gearing: 19 with 45, 19 with 44, etc..

thanks.

spur divided by the pinion equals gear ratio

his question seemed to ask how to figure out the gear ratio of pinion/spurs. now if he wants the gear ratio at the tire then yes he would need to take into account of the pullies and such.

Default Drive calculator

Here's a link to a spreadsheet that will help you determine your ratios...
